Life at Prodieco
Gustavo Cainelli – Manufacturing Trainer
I joined Prodieco in 2015 as a CNC machine operator.
I was quite inexperienced but very eager to learn and progress.
Prodieco recognised my hard work and invested in my training and development.
I was given the opportunity to work as Field Applications Engineer, travelling internationally visiting our customers’ production lines and now I am developing and leading a manufacturing training programme to develop the CNC machinists of the future.
David Flanagan – Director
I started working in Prodieco in 1999, assembling tools. Soon after I became a CNC machinist, followed by managing production, doing sales, managing sales areas and today I am one of the Directors of Prodieco. Quite the evolution!
As one of the Sales Directors, I supervise day-today sales results, sales activity and customer visits. I also manage some global accounts of big pharmaceutical companies and a number of direct markets such as Malta, Israel and Indonesia. Alongside all this, I continuously look into new products, potential customers and the growth strategy for the future of the company.
Blister tooling was a small part of Prodieco’s trade at the beginning but thanks to our employees’ “cando” attitude, precision engineering and hard work, we are now one of the global leaders in blister tooling for the pharmaceutical industry. We are proud of our teams’ passion and dedication and we strive to make sure we offer opportunities of growth for all staff members.
When I’m not working on growing our business, I enjoy gardening, spending time with my family, fitness, and believe it or not: travelling; despite being often on the road to meet customers.
Neil Bailey – Senior Design Engineer
I’ve been working in Prodieco for 24 years and I’m now a senior design engineer. I design change parts and have worked on most of the machine types over the years. I also interact with other designers and other departments within the company on all aspects of design, and with our customers, to fully achieve their tooling needs.
My engineering teacher in secondary school had previously worked as a tool maker in Prodieco and suggested I inquire about doing an apprenticeship in Prodieco. While I started as a toolmaker, I then moved into design, so I guess I should thank my teacher, Mr Nugent, for steering me on the right path!
I enjoy the work and also like the challenge but I would have to say that most of all, it’s the people make me stay. Prodieco has excellent people within it, who have become great friends. They’re incredibly skilled engineers that you can learn a lot from, so I always keep an open mind, as we are all learning every day. Respect your colleagues and they will respect you and never be afraid to ask for advice or help, as in my experience, Prodieco employees are always happy to help.
It’s fantastic that we have dedicated HR department that looks after the well-being of the workforce which is very important. Happy staff will give you great work in a great environment.
Outside of work my interests would mainly be sports and the arts. I’m a massive sports fan in general but mainly GAA. I adore music: listening, playing, going to concerts whatever it is, if it involves music I’m there.
Kevin Beattie – Senior CNC Machinist
I started in Prodieco 7 years ago and I’m a Senior CNC machinist. I’m a trained tool maker and winner of an all-Ireland Milling Competition a few years ago.
My day-to-day job consists of operating different CNC machines, training newcomers on the operation of various machines and monitoring different projects.
Prodieco is a busy company with a good work rhythm, and I enjoy working in an interesting sector like pharmaceutical engineering. There’s a great team atmosphere here and we have a good balance of work and banter among colleagues.
Outside of work, my passion is sports and I enjoy watching, playing and discussing all types of sports, with a preference for football.
