Prodieco is delighted to announce that we are donating Computers and other Computing Equipment to registered charity Camara to help improve education in disadvantaged communities around the World.
As a result of a large scale IT structural upgrade we were left with a number of computers and equipment that no longer had a purpose; having heard about the outstanding work the Camara does in bridging social and educational divide through technology, it was a no-brainer for Prodieco to support Camara, an organisation with activities that are aligned with our core values. Prodieco’s Head of IT and Finance, Shane Ferguson, explains.
These Computers and equipment are being donated to assist Camara in their program to improve education in low income schools in Africa, Ireland and the Caribbean. They will be sanitised and all hard drives will be erased or physically destroyed in compliance with the US DoD standard 5220.22M and NIST 800-88. Camara will then load the computers with educational software and ship them to one of their educational hubs for a second lease in life as an educational tool.
Camara is an International Organisation dedicated to leveraging technology in improve education and livelihood skills in disadvantaged communities around the world. Better education is a powerful tool to help these communities to have the advantage to break the cycle of poverty they are in.
