Role Overview:

We now have an exciting opportunity for a Pack Layout Design Engineer to join our team.

The Pack Layout Design Engineer will work as part of our internal sales team to support the field sales team, to ensure our customers are provided with accurate blister designs and drawings. In conjunction, the pack layout team member will also support the tooling design department with right first time blister pack designs. The core purpose of the Pack Layout (Design) Engineer is to ensure that all outputs, designs and other relevant supporting documentation are completed in line with company project plans and timelines, to quality specifications and processes and most importantly meeting all customer requirements.The Pack Layout Design Engineer reports to the Blister Design Team Leader.

Responsibilities:

  • Design of blister packs, tooling components and cartons using SolidWorks
  • Following instruction, design engineering projects, in line with customer requirements
  • Effective management of the customer by liaising in an appropriate fashion on matters such as technical design issues or queries
  • Lead the resolution of issues, or escalate where appropriate
  • Ensure all work is carried out in an efficient and effective manner
  • Ensure productivity targets are met to achieve and surpass the teams’ objectives
  • Interact and engage with other departments e.g. tool design, sales, production, quality as part of the design process and specifically on larger or more complex projects
  • Provide timely and accurate communication to both the team leader and company directors, as appropriate
  • Support other project teams by sharing best practice, skills experience and previous learning’s

Person Specification

Technical Skills / Qualifications Required

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering; and/or 3-5 years’ experience in a design engineering role with high complexity
  • High level of proficiency in CAD software is required, specifically SolidWorks is essential
  • Experience in blister machine packaging design, pack technology or tool design would be a distinct advantage
  • Experience with CRM & ERP software would be an advantage
